Cainiao Smart Logistics Network — founded 2013 by Alibaba, headquartered in Hangzhou — is the logistics backbone of AliExpress and Taobao, with a European hub in Liège and US distribution centres. It aggregates many partner carriers, so your parcel may travel under a Cainiao number while China Post, SF, or a local post physically carries it.
Cainiao tracking number format
Cainiao numbers are typically 10–20 alphanumeric characters, most commonly starting LP. Because Cainiao aggregates partner carriers, the underlying carrier number (e.g. an LE…CN China Post or SF number) may differ from the LP number shown in your order.
